Carprofen is used in Vetprofen Caplets to treat inflammation and discomfort in dogs with osteoarthritis. It can also help dogs with postoperative discomfort following orthopedic or soft tissue surgery.

Dogs must be 6 weeks or older.

Vetprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medication (NSAID) that relieves pain and inflammation caused by surgery, hip dysplasia, joint illness, and arthritis. It can also help to lower fevers.

Overview
Before using this medication, read the information sheet that came with it. Capsules are scored to enable for dosage precision and half-caplet dose estimates. Approximately 2 hours prior to a surgery, give to control postoperative discomfort. For dogs, a daily oral dose of 2mg per pound of body weight is recommended. This entire amount can be taken as a single daily dose or split into two doses of 1mg per pound of body weight.
