What are the side effects of Metronidazole (as Benzoate) Compounded Tiny Tablet?
Be sure to discuss any side effects your pet experiences while taking metronidazole with your veterinarian immediately. Reported side effects include lethargy, weakness, anorexia, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. In rare instances neurologic toxicity can occur with high doses of metronidazole, signs of which include rapid eye movements, loss of coordination, stiffness, tremors, and seizures. Topical preparations containing metronidazole (such as gels, ointments, creams, etc.) may also cause irritation at the site of application.
What special precautions are there?
Keep metronidazole and all drugs out of reach of children and pets. Metronidazole is a prescription drug and should be used according to your veterinarian's directions, and it should only be given to the animal for which it was prescribed. Do not give this medication to a person. Metronidazole should not be given to animals that are allergic to it, or drugs like it. Metronidazole should be used with caution in animals with liver disease and in pregnant or nursing animals.
What to do if overdose?
Overdose of metronidazole may cause more severe reactions similar to those listed previously in the side effects section. If you suspect your pet or another animal was accidentally overdosed or has eaten this medication inadvertently, contact your veterinarian or the A.S.P.C.A.'s Animal Poison Control Center at 888.426.4435. Always bring the prescription container with you when you take your pet for treatment. If you or someone else has accidentally ingested this medication call the National Capital Poison Center at 800.222.1222.

Each tablet contains: Metronidazole Benzoate USP 80.41mg equivalent to Metronidazole 50mg., Microcrystalline cellulose USP-NF 62.8mg, Magnesium Stearate NF 2.25mg, Corn Starch NF 1.5mg, Cab-O-Sil M-5P 1.5mg, Sodium starch glycolate NF 0.8mg and green food color 0.75mg. 

Each tablet contains: Metronidazole Benzoate USP 100.5mg equivalent to Metronidazole 62.5mg., Microcrystalline cellulose USP-NF 42.7mg, Magnesium Stearate NF 2.25mg, Corn Starch NF 1.5mg, Cab-O-Sil M-5P 1.5mg, Sodium starch glycolate NF 0.8mg and green food color 0.75mg
